Annual holiday party report!

16.5 tables of folks enjoyed a delicious luncheon, a farewell to a retiring player and a round of bridge.

We honored long-time player, former club owner/manager and Gold Life Master Carolyn May, as she retires from competitive bridge.

    • Carol Robey shared some previously unshared stories of Carolyn as a young, competitive bridge player.
    • Mae Moore read a poem she composed.
    • John Markey proclaimed the month of May to be Carolyn May Month.  That was met with enthusiastic applause.  We’ll have some extra fun come May!

It was nice to see our friends from Blacksburg and other neighboring areas.  A contingent of Roanoke players descended upon the NRV the next day for their annual holiday party.

Thank you to the many people who served as volunteers.

We finished up right on time!

  • If Roanoke County schools are closed, we will be closed.
  • If Roanoke County schools open late, we will play our regular 12:30 PM game.
  • If Roanoke County schools close early, we will truncate the game.
